Ozone is a word derived from the Greek word "ozein," meaning "to smell." You may have noticed the clean and crisp smell of ozone before a springtime rain, which is produced by lightning. Even without much lightning, there are still trace amounts of ozone in the air.

Unlike other deodorizing methods, an ozone generator does not require air passing through the machine to deodorize. To use it, first remove and clean any accessible odor sources and pollutants. Set the timer for up to 3 hours, keeping in mind that a 2 car garage will require 45 minutes of treatment time. Make sure no pets or people are near the area to be treated, and use the included door hanger to notify others. After treatment, air out the room for at least 30 minutes before allowing people or pets back in. If there are lingering odors, the area may need to be retreated for a longer duration.
